How is the cloud shaping the Manufacturing Industry?
The Manufacturing industry involves manufacturing and processing of items that are either kept for sale or used as an intermediate product in the production. The manufacturing sector is one of the largest industries in the world. Some of the important segments within the manufacturing industry include construction, textile, electronics, energy, food and beverages, metals, engineering, transport, plastic, telecommunications and chemical industries. According to National Association of Manufacturing (NAM), $2.17 trillion is added to US economy every year by the manufacturing industry. There are 12.33 million workers in the US which is nine percent of total workforce of the country. Globally, the manufacturing segment is 16% of GDP and 14% of employment.
